Our coffee house story

Since 2016

A Room Built Around the Roaster

Emberbean started with a secondhand roaster, twelve kilos of green Brazilian beans, and a lease on a quiet Toronto corner. Ten years on, the roaster is bigger and the room is busier — but the idea hasn't changed: roast honestly, bake daily, and know your regulars by name.

Every bean we serve passes through our own drum roaster at the back of the house. Every pastry passes through Sofia's ovens overnight. Nothing arrives frozen, nothing sits longer than a day.

What we stand by

Three Promises, Kept Daily

01

Roasted this week, always

The roast date is stamped on every bag and every grinder hopper. If a bean is older than fourteen days, it doesn't go in your cup.

02

Baked overnight, never frozen

Croissants laminated over three days, sourdough from across the street, and a dessert case that turns over completely by closing.

03

A table for everyone

Laptop campers, first dates, family breakfasts, quiet readers. Fast wifi, bottomless batch-brew refills before ten, and no side-eye — ever.

What Our Visitors Say

The best coffee house!

I have worked from every cafe in this neighbourhood and nothing touches this place. Fast wifi, honest espresso, and staff who remember your order.

It was very delicious!

The chocolate pancakes are worth crossing town for. We came for brunch on Saturday and booked our anniversary dinner table on the way out.

I'm delighted!

Booked a table for four on a friend's recommendation. Warm room, beautiful brewing, and the tuna melt was the surprise of the afternoon.
